This course provides a comprehensive introduction to high-performance computing (HPC) using Slurm to scale researcher's data analysis beyond the limitations of a local desktop. You will begin by learning how to securely connect to an HPC cluster and navigate a remote environment using the Unix command line. The curriculum covers the essential mechanics of modern research computing, including how to transfer files, access specialised software via environment modules, and submit and manage jobs through a batch scheduler. By exploring the principles of parallelisation, you will learn to significantly accelerate your workflows and efficiently utilise the diverse computing facilities available to you.
